New Courses at BlueSky in 2025–2026
At BlueSky, we’re always looking for ways to expand our course offerings and provide students with interesting, real-world learning experiences. For the 2025–2026 school year, we’re introducing several new courses for high school and middle school students.
If you’re interested in environmental science, agriculture, computer science, or journalism, these new courses will be right up your alley. Here’s a look at our newest courses and what they offer:
Environmental Exploration (Grades 10–11)
If you’re passionate about the environment and want to understand the relationship between nature and our actions, this course is for you. Environmental Exploration dives into the science behind ecosystems, pollution, conservation, and sustainability.
What You’ll Learn:
- Relationships in the natural world
- How to see and analyze environmental problems
- The science behind water, land, and air management
- The impact of human activities on the biosphere
- Solutions for preventing environmental issues
This course is great for students interested in science, sustainability, and civic responsibility—or for those considering careers in environmental science, conservation, or policy-making.
Agriculture Science (Grades 9–12)
Agriculture is more than farming—it’s about innovation, sustainability, and feeding our communities. This introductory course explores modern agriculture and the science behind food production.
What You’ll Learn:
- The role of agriscientists in improving food production
- Technologies that support sustainable farming
- Conservation of natural resources
- Diverse career opportunities in agriculture and food science
If you’re curious about how science and technology shape our food systems and want to positively impact the planet, this course is a great start!
Yearbook (Grades 9–12)
Love storytelling, photography, and design? The Yearbook Production course gives students a hands-on opportunity to create BlueSky’s yearbook, using Canva to design, edit, and publish a professional-quality book.
What You’ll Learn:
- Photography and photo editing skills
- Graphic design and page layout using Canva
- Journalism and content writing for captions and stories
- Project management and teamwork
No experience? No problem. This elective is available to all high school students and is great for students who are creative thinkers and have an interest in design.
Coding MS (Grades 7–8)
If you’ve ever wanted to design games, build apps, or understand how computers work, start working on your coding skills with this new course for middle schoolers! Coding MS introduces 7th and 8th grade students to programming in a fun, interactive way.
What You’ll Learn:
- Basic coding languages and logic
- How to create interactive projects
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- How to design and program simple games
Whether you’re a total beginner or already have a knack for coding, this course helps build your skills for the future—from game development to robotics and beyond.
