National Honor Society
BlueSky is proud to announce that we have an active chapter of the nationally recognized program, National Honor Society (NHS). Every fall semester, BlueSky full-time students in grades 10-12, who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0, and were enrolled with us the previous spring semester, will be invited to submit a candidate information form indicating their interest in NHS and achievements in the areas of Character, Leadership and Service.

National Honors Society Officers
President Laila Lewis
Bio: I am currently in my third year of NHS and am excited this year to take on the leadership role as president and volunteer in my community for my service hours. Some of my volunteer plans include helping out at my local food shelf as well as volunteering at my local school to tutor or assist in the kitchen. This year, I have the opportunity to be in multiple different leadership roles as my 4-H club’s president, NHS president, and Miss Gaylord. When I am not focused on schoolwork or my leadership roles, I enjoy running, lifting weights, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
Vice President Ava Schieffert
Bio: This is my second year in NHS. I am looking forward to volunteering and helping others in my community through that. I am volunteering to help our school’s library and outside of school I am helping with Middle School youth nights at my church. Outside of school I enjoy playing violin, reading, crafting, and playing video games. I am looking forward to what my second year of NHS has to offer!
Secretary Kylee Paulson
Bio: This is my second year in NHS. I’m looking forward to helping others and sharing my skills. I plan to volunteer to help my family and some businesses around my small town. Outside of school, I love being outside with my animals or just spending time with my pets in general. I work at a home health care where I take care of people. I’m excited to be the NHS secretary and to see what this year has in store for me!
Member Sebine Bunner
Bio: This is my second year in NHS. I am looking forward to showing leadership for our school, and volunteering my time at gymnastics competitions, feed my starving children, and helping with the yearbook. Outside of school, I am a competitive gymnast and I train 20 hours a week. Besides doing gymnastics, I like to hang out with family and friends.
Member Emmery Neste
Bio: This is my first year in NHS! I am looking forward to helping my community by doing volunteer work and fundraisers. In the past, I have helped out at a local fire department, as well as volunteering in a “Kitty Cove” at a local Humane Society. Outside of school, I enjoy music and baking. I am always playing or listening to music, and there is always some sort of homemade baked goods in our house.
Member Sophie Boyum
Bio:This is my first year in the NHS. I am looking forward to helping others and learning how to support my community. In my past I have donated my time at the food pantry near me and went on volunteer work trips with my church. In my spare time I enjoy listening to music, baking, hanging out with people, helping others, and learning about new people.
Member Mackenzie Murray
Bio: This is my first year in NHS! I am looking forward to all of the great opportunities that NHS has to offer, along with working to get my service hours done. I plan on helping with spirit week and possibly food drives, animal shelters, and more. Outside of school, I like to dance, ice skate, and hangout with my friends and family.
Member Athaniel Marsolek
Bio: I’m Athaniel Marsolek. I’m 15 and I have 2 cats and 6 chickens. This is my first year in the NHS. I’m looking forward to all of the fun and great opportunities that it has to offer.
Member Abby Waits
Bio: This is my first year in the NHS! I’m looking forward to getting to help my community, and learning about the different things NHS will be able to teach me. I’m going to be helping plan the spirit week events, and volunteering at my swim team to help kids learn to swim. Outside of school, I love to read and paint and I’ve been a synchronized swimmer for 11 years. I’m looking forward to this journey!
