My Hometown
Apple Valley, MN – where an apple tree was planted in every back yard (back in the day)
How I Came to BlueSky
A couple of our current students were leaving our in-person school for an online experience. I was curious to see how I might support students who are looking for a dynamic learning experience at BlueSky so I applied. This is my third year at BlueSky Online School.
My Passions as an Educator
Hands down … listening to the student story, problem-solving around any obstacles that may appear and celebrating the growth and successes of each learner.
My Passions and Hobbies
My family – my husband is an online special ed teacher, too and we moved to rural WI to live on the lake during the pandemic. You might find us at live music events or a great local place to eat. I love chasing our grandkids all summer at the lake. I’m great at creating flower arrangements from my garden but lousy at weeding. I’m often caught reading in the hammock — authors Louise Erdrich, Percival Everett and 11/22/63 by Stephen King (soooooo good). Kayaking and swimming are high on my “like” list. Crafty things like fabric or holiday stockings are laying around my house waiting for me to get inspired.
