My Hometown
I grew up in a rural community about an hour north of the Twin Cities. I currently live in Oulu, WI.

How I Came to BlueSky
I had been working in online teaching and learning for about ten years in various roles before coming to BlueSky. When people asked me about my career, I tended to focus on my passion for supporting individual students and their families. The advisor position sounded like a great opportunity to continue cultivating relationships with students in an impactful way.

My Passions as an Educator
As an educator, I value collaboration, critical thinking, and compassion when working with staff, students, families, and the community. I make every effort to meet students where they are at in their journey, coming alongside them as a trusted and caring adult. I am passionate about helping students take small steps in reaching goals and discovering ways to grow both personally and academically.

My Passions and Hobbies
I am married to my high school sweetheart, and we have two little girls. As a family, we spend a lot of time outdoors – playing with our chickens, caring for our vegetable and flower gardens, canoeing and boating, exploring new towns, and hiking. My other passions include reading, running long distances, trying new ethnic foods, visiting independent coffee shops, travelling to new places, and cooking brunch for friends and family.
