My Hometown
I grew up in a rural community about an hour north of the Twin Cities. I currently live in Oulu, WI.

How I Came to BlueSky
I had been working in online teaching and learning for about ten years in various roles before coming to BlueSky. When people asked me about my career, I tended to focus on my passion for supporting individual students and their families. The advisor position sounded like a great opportunity to continue cultivating relationships with students in an impactful way.

My Passions as an Educator
As an educator, I value collaboration, critical thinking, and compassion when working with staff, students, families, and the community. I make every effort to meet students where they are at in their journey, coming alongside them as a trusted and caring adult. I am passionate about helping students take small steps in reaching goals and discovering ways to grow both personally and academically.

My Passions and Hobbies
I am married to my high school sweetheart, and we have two middle school aged girls. As a family, we spend a lot of time outdoors – hiking, caring for our vegetable and flower gardens, exploring new places, and spending time by Lake Superior. My other passions include reading, running long distances, cooking and baking, visiting independent coffee shops, travelling, and spending time with friends and family.
