How I Came to BlueSky
I chose BlueSky because I believe technology is the future of education. What better place to work with cutting edge technology than an online school? It also gives me the flexibility to be there when my family needs me and yet reach out to young people as their teacher and mentor.

What Makes BlueSky Special to Me
BlueSky embodies all of the characteristics of a quality school. I love the one-on-one attention I can give my students and the fact that I’m able to tailor my assignments to meet individual needs. Open communication with students is also a special part of BlueSky. The quality teachers truly make BlueSky great. I’ve never worked with a more compassionate and energetic group of professionals before.

My Passions and Hobbies
I am not a morning person. Instead I prefer to stay up late and sleep late. This doesn’t work so well with four kids who enjoy waking up at the crack of dawn just to watch cartoons. Remember those days? My husband and I love watching Netflix and going to the movie theater, but the nearest one is thirty miles away. I usually don’t like romance movies or books, but instead prefer action and adventure. That could be why I love teaching world literature so much. I grew up on a chicken farm in south western Minnesota and always dreamed of being an English teacher. My favorite day of the week is Friday, of course, because then I have the entire weekend to spend building things or remodeling my old house. I collect kitchen timers and famous Disney villains, such as Maleficent, the evil queen from Snow White, Ursula, and Captain Hook. I also recently became obsessed with trash. Reduce, reuse, and recycle!

My Most Memorable Experience at BlueSky
Putting on a Bigfoot play in LA 7 over Zoom.
