Does the school provide the flexibility in scheduling that I need?

You will do all of their schoolwork via a computer and the internet. You can access your assignments anytime, 24/7, from anywhere that has an internet connection. Some classes have "live" internet sessions that you can attend and interact with your teacher and fellow students; however they often are offered at multiple times and all are recorded if the sessions times are inconvenient for you.

How much academic assistance can I expect?

At BlueSky, you will receive one-on-one attention unmatched by other Minnesota online high schools and traditional schools. Your teachers will be in touch frequently with you via phone, e-mail, texting, and other online methods. They will provide you with one-on-one help and support.

How much support and encouragement can I expect from teachers and other staff?

In addition to support in your classes, you  will be assigned a three-person team who will help you throughout your time at BlueSky. Your home base advisor will get to know you and your family well through frequent calls and e-mails. Your home base advisor will monitor and support your academic progress, act as an advocate for you, and keep you informed about deadline, events, and BlueSky requirements. Your counselor will help you plan your path through BlueSky and beyond and will provide personal and academic support. Your social worker is available to help you with personal and school concerns, can assist you during crises, and can connect you with resources in your community.

How will the school meet my unique learning needs?

At BlueSky, we know that each student has their own particular learning style and ability, and life circumstances. We help our students achieve their academic and personal goals by making sure that we meet their specific  needs, whether it be providing more in-depth work, providing assistance in areas in which students need extra help, or helping students figure out their way around personal challenges to their learning.

For students on IEPs, we assign as a home base advisor a special education teacher who provides quality direct services. With low student-to-special education teacher ratios, our special education staff meets each of our students' individual educational needs.

What are the qualifications and quality of the teachers?

BlueSky has assembled some of the best teachers from throughout the state. All of BlueSky teachers are fully licensed by the State of Minnesota and are professionally trained.  Our exceptional, experienced educators have come together to produce a leading online high school curriculum and to create the premier online school model for supporting student growth and success.

Will the courses and curriculum fit my interests and credit needs?

Our courses are designed by our licensed teachers, who tailor courses to our students' learning needs. BlueSky students enjoy high-interest, creative classes in the core subject areas. Our students rave about our engaging elective courses that range from classes in web design to cooking classes and music lessons. We also offer two routes to taking college-level courses while at BlueSky.
