Who Am I?
This group allows students self-exploration into the on going creation of their identity. It is offered because it is healthy for adolescents to have a safe place to explore the many layers of their identity. Some of the topics we examine include: personal values, family, relationships/friendships, culture, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, spirituality/religion, assumptions/stereotypes, societal beliefs, your community, goals/dreams, and being true to oneself. The group is designed to be one where everyone is comfortable sharing and one where classmates are offered the opportunity to discuss and mutually support one another as they search for personal answers to the important question, Who Am I?
Mind Over Mood
This group is designed for students in grades 9-12. The treatment sessions are conducted as a group in which the social worker teaches skills for controlling depression and other mood disorders. The areas covered include relaxation, pleasant events, negative thoughts, social skills, communication, and problem solving. Each student will perform activities, which is closely integrated with group discussions and group activities. An important feature of this group is that it is non-stigmatizing because the treatment is presented and conducted as a group and not as therapy
Independent Living
This group is designed to teach high school students life skills that are necessary for independent living. The group will focus on four skill areas, Work, Recreation, Home Living, and Community Living. Skills covered will include how to find a job, interviewing skills, grocery shopping, creating a budget, using public transportation, balancing a checkbook and many more! Each student will complete activities that teaches and encourages use of these skills.
The Real You
This group is designed as a psycho-social educational support group for female students in grades 9-12. The group is facilitated by a social worker who teaches skills for increasing self-confidence, self-esteem, building and maintaining healthy relationships, addressing body image needs and concerns and ultimately helping students become self-aware so they can make healthy choices and decisions.
Activities are designed to promote the well being of all students. Each student will be required to complete activities that give students several learning options. This includes class discussions, reflections, integrated multi media tools, and allows for one on one support with classroom instructor which is similar to an in person support group. Class discussion allows for peer support as well as peer teaching.
Healing and Dealing
Healing and Dealing is a support group designed as a psycho-educational support group for students in grades 7-12. This group is facilitated by a social worker who teaches skills to help work through and process grief. You will not only learn about the stages of grief but this group will also allow for personal reflection. You will be given practical ideas for understanding and expressing your grief.

Get it Done
In the Get it Done group, the instructor and students explore the dynamics and skills common to goal achievement, self-motivation, and personal success planning from a student’s perspective. The students will create a life plan, which will demonstrate their understanding and enhance their lives by the practical application of the group material.
Addictions Recovery
The social worker and students will explore issues of chemical use, abuse, dependency, recovery, and relapse prevention planning from a young student’s perspective and the way it impacts their lives and families. Its goal is to meet the chemical health needs of students including those concerned about or struggling with chemical use, recovery, or relapse, to teach them how to access the support resources within their community to meet their needs.
Tools for Success
This group is designed for students in grades 9-12. The sessions are conducted as a group in which the social worker teaches skills that encourage responsible behavior. The areas covered include taking responsibility for a problem, consequences for positive or negative behaviors, learning how to make good decisions, self-assessment of skills, self acceptance and forgiveness, and setting and achieving goals. Students will complete the activites together with discussions and group activities.
Attacking Anxiety
This group is designed for students in grades 9-12. The sessions are conducted as a group in which the social worker teaches skills for managing anxiety, worry, and panic. Topics covered include: anxiety 101 – the basics; self-recognition, relaxation, thought control, and prevention. Activities will include: assignments consisting of readings, threaded discussions, self-reflection, and quizzes. This group is not stigmatizing because therapy is presented and conducted as a group.
Just Do It
This group is designed for students in grades 7-12. It is only for those students who were previously dropped from BlueSky Online School as a result of no engagement. The group is a progression of activities that help students identify challenges and behaviors that impact course completion. The areas covered are negative behaviors, time management, decision making skills, and goal setting. This is a revolving group in which students can enter at any time. Each student has 8 school days to complete the course. Students who are required to take this group are not able to access their other courses until this group is complete. Each student is required to complete all activities and the group is weighted on a Pass/Fail grading scale.
