Superintendent's Message

Each year, BlueSky creates an Annual Report that highlights the school's accomplishments from the previous school year. This report also provides the results of BlueSky's annual goals and a summary of our various programs and focus areas. Please take a look at BlueSky's 2016-2017 Annual Report and find out more about your school!

At the start of every school year, and upon initial enrollment, BlueSky asks our students and parents to complete certain forms that contain personal information. One of those forms is titled Application for Educational Benefits. If you have not yet done so, please complete the form and send it back to BlueSky as soon as possible. You should have received this form along with instructions in an email with a request to send it back to Angelique Moore at angelique.moore@blueskyschool.org. Angelique will be happy to answer any questions you might have about the form.

BlueSky's winter break begins December 25th and continues through January 1st. Students will still be allowed to work during this time, however, teachers will not be available to respond to questions or to grade assignments. Classes will officially resume on Tuesday, January 2nd.

Enjoy your winter break!

Amy Larsen
Superintendent

BlueSky Stars

The BlueSky advisors have chosen to recognize these students for their hard work and dedication:

"Wyatt Latuff is a new 7th grader this year and he demonstrates BlueSky Star qualities by quickly learning how to be a successful student through his hard work and dedication to his classes. Wyatt says, 'I used to be a kid who didn't really care about school that much. But I have been able to move ahead with my work at BlueSky. The teachers always seem to be excited to help. My future is getting brighter and clearer as I improve and enhance my school abilities.' Wyatt also enjoys playing the drums and making music.

- nominated by Jen Anderson

"Kensington Uhr-Powell is a Senior and is an incredibly hard worker. She completed six classes this term and finished them all by December 13th. Kensi says, 'So far it's been one of my best years grade wise. And overall it has been a very nice and welcoming experience. I feel like I'm learning and like that I always have a good support system with all the people I have to contact.'"

Save the Date for the ACT

Attention Juniors and Seniors! BlueSky is offering all Juniors (class of 2019) and Seniors (class of 2018) the opportunity to take the ACT college entrance exam at the BlueSky office in West St. Paul on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 9:00 am. You will need to be at the office by 8:45 am at the latest.

You are required to pre-register to take the test, via this form.

Registration will close on January 11, 2018 and late registrations cannot be accepted.

The fee for taking the test is $45 and must be paid by January 12, 2018. Payment information will be sent to your BlueSky email address after you register. If you are free/reduced lunch eligible (form must be on file), you will not need to pay to take the test.

Student Work

Nicole Petersen would like to feature work done by Kathryn Christenson and Syera Walberg. Kate is taking Intro to Visual Communications and created a website to showcase her pictures (including the horse below) and Syera is in Digital Photography and submitted the dog picture as part of the Ant's Point of View assignment.

Report Card Mailing Request

The end of the semester is only 3 weeks after students return from winter break. If you would like to receive a hard copy of your student's report card in addition to the electronic copy that will be emailed, please fill out the Report Card Mailing Request form.

SeaLife Field Trip

We had a great turnout for the SeaLife field trip last week with 36 students and their families and friends in attendance. Students were split into groups and took turns rotating between a behind the scenes tour, classroom activities, and a self-guided tour of the aquarium.
