Gaia Buttweiler is a licensed 5-12 Social Studies Teacher.
My name is Gaia Buttweiler and I am a social studies teacher here at BlueSky Charter School. I received my Bachelor’s degree from Macalester College in St. Paul in Anthropology and a minor in Religious Studies.
For over 10 years, I worked in a variety of settings around the state of Minnesota interpreting for students from Kindergarten up to high school level.
In 2004, I received my teaching licensure from the University of Minnesota, Morris.
Prior to starting at BlueSky in February of 2007, I taught for 3 years at a small charter school located in Osakis, Minnesota where I taught a variety of social studies classes.
My career began as a Sign Language Interpreter for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
I am married and have 2 wonderful boys, Aidan (7 years old) and Evan (4 years old).
My hobbies include reading, photography, and outdoor activities. My summer months are filled with swimming, fishing, and spending time outside with my family.
