I have been a Business Education Teacher at BlueSky Charter School since December of 2006. I became a Business Education teacher after working over 20 years, primarily in IT support, for several corporations in a variety of industries. Becoming a teacher has been a dream come true because I want to use my previous business experience to help educate and prepare future generations for success in the business world. I have an Associate in Liberal Arts degree from the University of Minnesota, a Bachelor of Science degree in Management & Ethics from Crown College and a Masters of Education degree in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ. I have two children, Javon and Parisa who are the joy of my life. As a single mom who has raised my kids on my own since 1999, I understand the struggles of single parenting. I feel that a quality education is the key to a successful future as education opens the doors to opportunities and success. I have lived in Minnesota all my life and currently live in Hutchinson. My favorite hobby is traveling. I enjoy taking my children on trips every year, especially over Spring Break where we escape to a warmer destination for a few days. I have been to 47 U.S. states as well as Canada, Mexico, Peru, Norway, Denmark and Honduras -- with a couple of layovers in Sweden and Colombia. I have family and friends in faraway places. I traced my Norwegian family tree back in 1983 and have visited my family in Norway four times thus far. Other hobbies include playing piano and saxophone for weddings and banquets, cooking, making lefse, and studying foreign languages (Norwegian and Spanish primarily).
