Dear Mr. Ellis, My son entered BlueSky in January for 2nd semester 2007 - 2008. For the past seven years we struggled trying to keep him focused in the classroom and spent countless hours trying to get work caught up just to get a passing grade. We have also spent thousands of dollars on evaluations, private education, summer tutors and so on, but it was all to no avail. When he entered grade 9, teachers immediately started recommending that he be entered in a special education program. Instincts told us that special education would do more harm than good, A friend of mine told me about his daughter attending BlueSky, however she is one of those gifted and talented students and so I thought that is what BlueSky was for. After looking at the information on your website, it sounded like this was exactly what we were looking for. So we made application, and told everyone at BlueSky that our biggest problem was not being able to function in a normal classroom setting, which was having affects on everything else from incomplete or missing assignments to poor test scores. At the time his grade point average was 0.7 and at the end of his first quarter this young man was at a 3.7 which is what his final gpa at the end of the 07-08 school year.
