My name is Janel Poser and one of the new special education teachers here at BlueSky. I am very excited to meet all the staff, students and families that are involved with BlueSky. I lived northwest of Little Falls on a dairy farm for most of my life. I got married 2 years ago and we moved to my husband's home place where he grew up, which happens to be about 3 miles from my parents. In other words, I married the "guy next door"! We are remodeling our house and expecting our little boy in November 2008. I didn't really know what I wanted to be when I was growing up. I thought of a meteorologist, librarian, court reporter, astronaut, and then a special education teacher. I realize being a special education teacher is what I wanted to be after working as a paraprofessional during summer school. I started off my schooling at Central Lakes College in Brainerd and finished up at St. Cloud State University with my degree in Special Education with my licensure in Emotional Behavior Disorders (EBD). After teaching a year and half, I went back for my Learning Disabilities (LD) teaching certificate. I enjoy doing a variety of things. My favorite sports are volleyball (I didn't play it in school however, so I am not very good), fast and slow pitch softball, basketball, baseball, and tennis. I enjoy being outside when it isn't raining, humid, or hot (90 degrees or higher). I also enjoy reading (I read whenever I can. I love the shopaholic books:), learning and using American Sign Language, writing calligraphy, and being with my family and friends. Feel free to call or email me with any questions or concerns. Thanks! |
