The BlueSky Online Adventure awaits, are you ready for the challenge? Hi, my name is Jill Larson and I have recently been hired as a physical education and health teacher here at Blue Sky. Prior to teaching at Blue Sky, I have initiated many unique teaching opportunities that have given me innovative and alternative perspectives. My teaching career began in South Texas working with Special Olympic athletes as an Adapted Physical Education Instructor. When I missed the snow and cold of the Midwest, I moved back to Wisconsin to teach elementary physical education and coach middle and high school athletics. Then when my passion for travel and culture kicked in, I went to teach in Central America at Escuela Americana in San Salvador, El Salvador and Ted Istanbul College in Istanbul, Turkey. Upon return to the U.S., I moved to Minnesota to further pursue my teaching, but in a non-traditional sense. In the past 7 years I have taught in corrections, self-contained special education settings and most recently at an Area Learning Center in Fridley. After 22 years in education, teaching in every setting is exciting!! When I’m not teaching, I enjoy a variety of activities such as adventure travel: whitewater rafting, backpacking, canoe camping, and bike tours; international and domestic travel; spending time with my family and friends, visiting coffee shops, surfing the net for travel deals, watching movies and reading a good book.
