Can I Work At My Own Pace? Print E-mail

At BlueSky, classes and lessons are offered in two ways.  Eclassroom is used by teachers to deliver instruction, lessons, assignments, and homework to students.  This most approximates a regular class in that students are expected to keep pace with their class.  Assignments and homework have to be completed on schedule.  You may choose what time of the day you work, but you are expected to work online on a regular, consistent basis for 20-25 hours per week.

BlueSky also has a student self-paced learning program called Plato.  It is pre-programmed learning.  It is coordinated and supervised by fully licensed teachers.  Some students have special needs that make it extremely difficult, if not impossible, to always keep pace with a regular class.  For these students, Plato can meet a real need.  The student works at their own, individual pace.  When they are unable to do their school work, they do not get behind their class.  And then when they are able to work again, they can put in extra time and effort to get back on track with finishing their courses.  These courses are semester long courses of 1/2  credit, and even though the student may not be able to work every school day, the student is expected to make progress in completing the course on schedule.  A student’s time working, and progress, is tracked by their teachers.
