Jina Baartman is a licensed 7-12 Social Studies Teacher.

My name is Jina Baartman, and I’m a part of the Social Studies team here at BlueSky.  I attended Southwest (Minnesota) State University in Marshall, MN, and have a BA in History and am licensed to teach all areas of the social studies curriculum.  I come to you with a wide range of teaching experience (3 years in a traditional public school setting, 5 years in a private school setting, and 4 years in the charter school movement).  I’m now in my second year at BlueSky, and I’m so glad to be a part of this online learning program!

I live in the southwest corner of Minnesota with my husband, Brian, and our son and two daughters.  Jared was born in August, 1999; Kylea was born in March, 2002; and our little Laken was just born in August, 2008.  We also have a beagle dog named “Sammy”.  When I am not busy with my family, I enjoy taking care of my flowers and watching reality shows on TV (especially “Big Brother” and “What Not to Wear”). 

But my biggest passion has always been education…so I look forward to working with you, and I hope to make your learning experience a fun and rewarding one!!!
