Ben’s love for teaching began with sax and trumpet lessons he gave his junior year in High School.  Since then he has taught lessons on string bass, electric bass, flute, clarinet, violin, and start a great love for conducting string ensembles.

Ben grew up in the small town of Soderville, MN that is in northern Anoka County.  Most of his musical endeavors have sprung from something fun and creative to involve him in after warming his hands up from ice fishing.  Listening to all kinds of music has been a favorite past time of Ben’s.  This intrigue has sprung the sensation for exploring and understanding the trills and thrills behind the music.

In his spare time, Ben enjoys playing string bass with the NSO (Northern Symphony Orchestra – www.nso-mn.org).  In addition to playing cribbage with his wife and teaching instrument lessons, Ben plays Rock & Dixie music, taking walks, skipping stones, hiking, fishing, and the heckling of ridiculous reality TV shows.
