 I graduated from a public high school and an online college. It is interesting to have experienced both educational settings. I always found too many social distractions in high school. Unless you hang out with the smart kids, your friends are probably not going to want to study with you. Needless to say, if my work didn’t get done in class, it didn’t get done. I still managed to graduate, but it wasn’t at the level I knew I was capable of. Many years later I decide to take a stab at a college education. As single mom, working full time, I knew that a traditional classroom setting was not going to work for me. I applied to the Art Institute Online as a full time student and graduated, with honors, 18 months later. I still don’t know how I managed to do it all! The online environment was amazing. I enjoyed seeing who was enrolled in my next class with me, knowing that I’d have a “friend” to encourage, but not distract me.
I envy all of you enrolled here at BlueSky Charter School. If I would have had the same opportunity, who knows where I’d be! I currently live in Eagan with my husband and son, loving every minute of it. |
