Where do you live?
I live in Minneapolis.
Why did you become a teacher?
In high school I served as a volunteer English as a second language tutor, and this really made me interested in becoming a teacher. I tutored a young man who escaped the Pol Pot regime in Cambodia. I learned far more from him than I am sure he did from me. I also discovered teaching was something I liked. In college I had similar experiences that drew me to teaching.
We support the individual needs of our students.
Why did you choose BlueSky?
When I started BlueSky, online education was very new and unheard of. I love both a challenge and the chance to learn new skills. I jumped at the chance. I was also excited to work at a very small school (although we quickly grew!). It was very neat to be given the chance to have this new opportunity!
What do you think makes BlueSky special?
I think our slogan, "Your Education. Your Way." , sums it up: We support the individual needs of our students.
What do you like to do when you’re not teaching?
I enjoy working out, travel and reading.
