Math Teacher

Where do you live?

I live in Burr Ridge, Illinois, with my wife Alesha.

Why did you become a teacher?

I had an awesome junior high math teacher who provided an example of the impact that a caring teacher can have, and I'm sure that influenced my decision. I realized I wanted to become a teacher when I was a senior in high school and was helping my friends with their math. I found it to be both challenging and rewarding – two aspects of teaching math that are still true twenty-some years later.

Our staff is an incredibly creative, caring and energetic group of people who will go the extra mile to make sure our students experience success.

Why did you choose BlueSky?

I chose BlueSky because it is a good fit for what I believe education is about. My hiring at BlueSky coincided with my leaving a school I had taught in for 15 years to move to the Chicago area with my wife.

What do you think makes BlueSky special?

The level of concern our staff has for the students we work with.

What do you like to do when you're not teaching?

I mostly spend time with my wife, but also love to run, play basketball, ride motorcycles, listen to music and play guitar.

If there were one thing you could tell people about BlueSky, what would it be?

Our staff is an incredibly creative, caring and energetic group of people who will go the extra mile to make sure our students experience success.
