Where do you live?
I live Stewartville with my husband, Ryan; my daughter, Emma; dog, Bella; and cat, Max.
Why did you become a teacher?
I love science! When I was in college I wanted to do large lakes research and went to Bemidji State University to become an Aquatic Biologist. After graduation I worked for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR). As part of my job with the DNR; I had the opportunity to teach about fish and the environment at the Great Lakes Aquarium and knew that I wanted to teach as a career. I love helping students understand how amazing science can be and all the opportunities science has to offer.
At BlueSky, students can work full time, take care of the responsibilities in their lives, and complete a quality high school education.
Why did you choose BlueSky?
I wanted a school that was dedicated to students and gave them an opportunity to learn at their own pace. BlueSky gives me an opportunity to work one on one with students to help my students be successful.
What do you think makes BlueSky special?
BlueSky has an amazing team of professionals who dedicate themselves to helping students succeed. BlueSky allows students to go to school when it fits into their schedule. What do you like to do when you’re not teaching?
I love to quilt and scrapbook and spend time with my family. We love to spend time outside, especially hiking, camping, fishing, and geocaching. This summer I started preparing to go on my first bow hunting trip for turkey.
If there were one thing you could tell people about BlueSky, what would it be?
BlueSky is an amazing school! Students can learn when it fits into their schedules and they have support from caring professionals.
