Where do you live?
I live in Stillwater, Minnesota.
Why did you become a teacher?
I enjoy knowing that I am making a difference. One of the pleasures of being a teacher is getting to interact with young people. If you are lucky, you get to become part of the lives of some very special people and that is a privilege that teachers enjoy much more than people in other walks of life.
BlueSky does a fantastic job supporting teachers and students in using technology.
Why did you choose BlueSky?
I like the challenge to keeping up with technology and figuring out how to use it to improve teaching and learning. BlueSky does a fantastic job supporting teachers and students in using technology.
What do you think makes BlueSky special?
BlueSky understands what students need to be successful learners, not just in an online classroom, but in their lives outside of the classroom. All students and families are assigned to an additional support team to help navigate the BlueSky system and make plans for after high school.
What do you like to do when you're not teaching?
In real life I am a teacher, mother of two daughters in college and wife to a local history author. In my secret second life, I knit and am a fiber addict! I just purchased my first spinning wheel. I love spinning as much as I love knitting, but don't find nearly enough time to spin as often as I like.
Digging in my gardens and playing with my chickens is where you will find me when I'm outside. Not only are my chickens fun little pets to have, they make me breakfast!
