Where do you live?

I live in Marshall in Southwest Minnesota with my husband and two children.

Why did you become a teacher?

I became interested in teaching because both my mom and aunt were teachers. Throughout high school, I took advantage of opportunities to work with children in the elementary school, and by the time I went to college I knew it was the career path I wanted to pursue.

BlueSky is a great way to earn credits at your own pace, take advantage of a variety of elective courses, and earn your diploma.

Why did you choose BlueSky?

I was looking for a new challenge at the time and was very intrigued by online education. When I thought about some of my previous students, I knew if there had been an opportunity like BlueSky for them, they would have been more successful. I am happy to be a part of that kind of opportunity for students.

What do you think makes BlueSky special?

The support students receive from teachers, counselors, and social workers is incredible at BlueSky. I also think the flexibility for students is very beneficial for them—they can complete their school work using a schedule that works for them.

What do you like to do when you’re not teaching?

I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, and going for walks. My new passion is scrapbooking!

If there were one thing you could tell people about BlueSky, what would it be?

Try it! I think some students are nervous about venturing into the world of online learning, but BlueSky is a great way to earn credits at your own pace, take advantage of a variety of elective courses, and ultimately earn your diploma.
