Where do you live?
I live in Litchfield with my husband, Jason, and our three children, Tyson, Kylie and Emily.
Why did you become a teacher?
I grew up in a family with parents who were teachers. They showed me what awesome impact teachers can have on youth. I learned at a young age that teaching is not only about learning a subject, but inspiring kids to be the best that they can be.
Working for BlueSky has allowed me to get to know my students so much better than I did in a traditional school.
Why did you choose BlueSky?
I chose BlueSky initially so I could work from home and be closer to my kids. In doing so, I have learned that working for BlueSky has allowed me to get to know my students so much better than I did in a traditional school. I have been able to help students who are from many different walks of life, and are dealing with their own challenges.
What do you think makes BlueSky special?
BlueSky provides students with an alternative way to earn their diploma. The three-person team system we use provides an individualized support system for each of our students. This personal touch along with the flexibility of being able to learn and work at different times of the day allows students in different situations to be successful.
What do you like to do when you're not teaching?
When I am not working with my students, I spend time with my children, attend a mom's Bible study, run, walk, bike, play basketball in a woman's league, read books and scrapbook.
If there were one thing you could tell people about BlueSky, what would it be?
BlueSky is like a family! Our staff work together to help our students be successful. We believe in doing what is best for our students. This includes providing personal attention, flexibility and an awesome support network for each student.
