School Social Worker

Where do you live?

I live in Eyota, with my husband, 2 sons and daughter.

Why did you become a school social worker?

I became a school social worker because a long time ago someone made a difference for me, and I developed a passion for helping others because of that person.

Why did you choose BlueSky?

I almost feel like BlueSky choose me. It was one of those things that just happened, and it just felt right. When I learned that BlueSky really is about doing what is best for their students, I knew this was the right environment for me.

Our school really is focused on helping students. We work with them to be successful and stay on track.

What do you think makes BlueSky special?

Our school really is focused on helping students. We work with them to be successful and stay on track. I think the fact that each student has a student services advisor, counselor and social worker is very proactive. At BlueSky our students get one- on-one attention. Students have the flexibility of working when it works well for them. BlueSky provides an alternative environment for students who have not found success elsewhere or are just looking for another option in completing their education.

What do you like to do when you're not working at BlueSky?

When I am not working at BlueSky, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

If there was one thing you could tell people about BlueSky, what would it be?

The people who work at BlueSky really care about kids, and want to help them be successful so they can graduate.
