School Social Worker

Where do you live?

I live in Minneapolis.

Why did you become a school social worker?

I believe in empowering students. All students have the potential to utilize their strengths. I enjoy working beside them as they recognize and reveal their many talents. I also feel one of the best part of working within a school is the relationships that are formed with students and their families.

Why did you choose BlueSky?

BlueSky is dedicated to providing student support, and as a social worker, I wanted to be part of a school community where this is valued.

What do you think makes BlueSky special?

I think the three person team model (advisor, counselor, social worker) support team approach is revolutionary. Students have an abundance of support available to them.

What do you like to do when you're not working at BlueSky?

I love to travel, see the world, learn about different cultures, although most of my travel is to a cabin in Montana with my family where we hike, enjoy nature and the beautiful mountains! I also like to read, bike, garden and go to music/arts events. My favorite summer event is the Minnesota State Fair!

If there were one thing you could tell people about BlueSky, what would it be?

I would tell people that BlueSky is comprised of many caring people who believe in every student's ability to succeed.
