Where do you live?

I live in Blaine with my husband, Tom; daughter, Sydney; and Pug, Sasha.

Why did you become a counselor?

I became a school counselor after substitute teaching and working as a paraprofessional in a special education school district. I found working one-on-one with students to be especially rewarding. Getting to know students, building rapport and watching them grow is an amazing experience. I especially enjoy working with high school age students. High school is a life-changing time for a student this age. I enjoy helping students as they are preparing for the next phase of their life.

Our staff goes above and beyond to make sure that our online communication is effective and productive.

Why did you choose BlueSky?

I chose BlueSky because I firmly believe there should be many different environments for a student to learn. Every student has different needs and settings that help meet those needs. Technology has always intrigued me and the thought of getting to know students in the online environment seemed novel.

What do you think makes BlueSky special?

There are many things that make BlueSky special.  From my previous educational experiences, I feel confident in saying that we have an amazing staff. Our staff members are extremely flexible and are constantly assessing what they can do to help meet the various needs of our students. Communication in the online environment is especially important. Our staff goes above and beyond to make sure that our online communication is effective and productive.

What do you like to do when you’re not working at BlueSky?

I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, playing sports, reading and traveling.

If there were one thing you could tell people about BlueSky, what would it be?

BlueSky is a welcoming school and provides a warm environment to work and learn.
