Where do you live?
I live in the small town of Avon, Minnesota, which is about 12 miles west of St. Cloud. I like living in the comfort of a small town with the convenience of a large town close by.
Why did you become a teacher?
I became a teacher and later a school counselor because I love working with young people. I can't think of a more rewarding profession! Helping students succeed in school and in life is a huge passion of mine. I can't imagine doing any thing else!
BlueSky Online School works well for students who are young parents, who work odd hours, or just need a flexible class schedule.
Why did you choose BlueSky?
I chose to work for BlueSky Online School because of the wonderful staff and the commitment given to students to help them succeed. I have never been part of such a devoted staff that works with students, teachers, other staff members and the community. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that students are given the education they deserve and the flexibility to ensure that students will succeed.
What do you think makes BlueSky special?
I think what makes BlueSky special is the accommodating staff to student needs. No student at BlueSky is the same. Our staff works with each student to meet his/her individual needs. The flexibility given to students is also quite special. Because of the online environment, students can access their classes 24 hours a day! So, class schedules fit into their own personal schedule. BlueSky works well for students who are young parents, work odd hours, or just need a flexible class schedule.
What do you like to do when you're not working at BlueSky?
I enjoy biking, hunting, and fishing. I am also a huge Minnesota Vikings fan and love watching football any chance I get. My other hobbies include playing card games of all kind. I especially enjoy poker. I play league poker a few times a week and also play in tournaments once in awhile.
If there were one thing you could tell people about BlueSky, what would it be?
BlueSky provides one of the most flexible and accommodating learning environments for students to earn their high school diploma. Not succeeding is NOT an option. At BlueSky Charter School, you will succeed!
