Where do you live?

I live in Sauk Rapids with my husband. We recently re-located there so we could be closer to our grandchildren: Bre (10), Mikey (2) and Cassidy (baby). Our daughter is a teacher for Sartell High School. And our son is a student at St. Cloud State. I grew up nearby in Foley, so moving has felt like coming home.

Why did you become a counselor?

I never wanted to be anything else! I've always wanted to be able to work with young people, probably because I had a couple of teachers who really influenced me. Working in schools is an honorable, worthwhile profession.

When it comes to scheduling or meeting student's needs, flexibility is our middle name.

Why did you choose BlueSky?

I really wanted an opportunity to use my school counseling degree without having to relocate my family. I love the flexibility of my schedule and the opportunities our school provides for our students.

What do you think makes BlueSky special?

BlueSky is special because it treats its students with dignity and respect. We recognize that students are unique and have individual needs, and then we work hard to meet those needs. I've never worked at a school that had more concern for its students.

What do you like to do when you're not working at BlueSky?

When I'm not working for BlueSky, I spend most of my time with my family. We like to go camping and canoeing together, as well as watch and attend sporting events. On my own, I enjoy being in the sun, swimming, reading, and hanging out with friends and extended family members.

If there were one thing you could tell people about BlueSky, what would it be?

When it comes to scheduling or meeting student's needs, flexibility is our middle name.
